Labour will be backing a Sinn Fein motion to retain the eviction ban.
Party Leader Ivana Bacik is calling on the Government to reverse its decision not to extend it beyond the end of this month.
It comes after Green Party TD Neasa Hourigan said she'll go against the Government on Wednesday and will back the motion.
Deputy Bacik says Labour will put forward a bill to extend the ban if the motion is defeated.
"We're assuming that the government will ensure that the Sinn Fein motion will be defeated, even though we in Labour and across the opposition will all be supporting it.
"In that case we in Labour have called on the government to adopt an emergency bill that we have put forward to see the extension of the eviction ban until there is an evidence based reason for lifting it."
