Landmark buildings across the country are being lit up today for Epilepsy Ireland's Purple Day.
The group is asking people to wear the colour today and make donations for its work.
There'll be purple events, fun-runs and head shaves to raise funds for the charity, which has had a 50 per cent drop in income due to the pandemic.
Epilepsy Ireland spokesperson, Paddy McGeoghagan describes how people can show support:
"If people can dig into the wardrobe, find that purple item and it could be as simple as sharing a picture today wearing purple, showing your support for epilepsy awareness and Epilepsy Ireland. Even if you're sharing something on Facebook or Instagram, stick a donate button on it and the donations will go directly to us and you will be part of the effort to raise funds for our work across Ireland today."
