A woman was nearly beheaded in yesterday's murder in Dublin, according to a leading crime writer.
The body of the woman in her 30s was found in her apartment in Finglas yesterday morning.
A Brazilian man, also in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in Garda custody.
John Hand, the chief reporter with the Irish Mirror, says the investigation is ongoing.
"Gardaí are continuing to examine the scene today. The body has undergone a post mortem; the results of which won't be released to the public. Gardaí have also seized a number of knives from the apartment itself, including the suspected murder weapon that will be sent away for forensics."
