Lidl is being urged to stop selling low cost "knife assortments" over the rise in violent knife crime.
They're being sold as part of the supermarket's camping and outdoor activity range and include a pocket knife with twenty one functions.
Patrick Marry, Retired Detective Inspector, says a conversation needs to be had about the sale and advertising of knives.
"There's nothing about their advert that suggests that they should be used inappropriately.
"However there are victims, people affected by knife crime, who may find it offensive that the likes of Lidl are selling these items at low cost, and that they are items that could be used to inflict injury."
