Lottery ticket sales rose by over €100 million to a total of over a billion last year.
The National Lotto's report for 2021 shows over 580 million was spent on prizes for winners and 300 million for Good Causes.
It also covered a historically long rollover of 19 million late last year, which was eventually scooped after calls for a Must Win draw.
CEO of the National Lottery Andrew Algeo, says growth was stronger in the early part of 2021:
"We had a historically long roll lotto in the second half of the year and that was certainly helpful to those figures, but it wasn't the only factor. Growth was faster in the first half of the year than in the second and 2021 was the sixth year of constant growth in ticket sales."
