Lower Risk Of Power Cuts This Winter Than Last Year

There's a lower risk of power cuts this winter than last year.

That's according to the operator of the national electricity grid, Eirgrid.

However, its Winter Outlook report predicts there's still a "reasonable probability" that supply will not meet demand.

It says customers could experience a loss of electricity for up to two hours this winter, with mid-December likely to be when supply is most under pressure.
