The remains of a man in his 70s were found in unexplained circumstances this morning at a house in Lisdoonvarna.
The body has been removed to University Hospital Limerick where a post mortem will determine the direction of the investigation.
The scene is currently preserved and a technical examination is being carried out.
A man in his 30s has been arrested and is being detained at Ennis garda station.
