A man charged with the murder of Ashling Murphy in Co Offaly is due back in court again next Wednesday.
31 year old Jozef Puska of Lynally Grove, Mucklagh, Co. Offaly appeared before a special sitting of Tullamore District Court last night.
The court was told he replied 'no' when the murder charge was put to him.
Michael Doyle, Senior News Reporter with the Irish Sun, says a crowd outside the courthouse quickly grew in numbers during his appearance:.
"The crowd was estimated at about 300 people.
"They made their way over to the courtroom and were on the steps.
"There was visibly a lot of anger, he was jeered and heckled when he was eventually brought out.
"It was a really, really tense atmosphere, and Gardai had to form a cordon to prevent any locals getting near the man."
