A man has died following an assault in Sligo town earlier this week.
The man in his late 30s suffered a head injury in the attack on Tuesday evening in the Rockwood Parade area of Sligo town.
Gardai say emergency services attended the scene shortly after 6pm - the man was taken to Sligo University Hospital, and then transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, where he later died.
Gardaí said that the death is being treated as suspicious and a post mortem examination will take place.
No arrests have been made and Gardaí have appealed for witnesses.
