A man has died following a road traffic collision in Co Kildare.
The incident is one of two serious crashes yesterday evening that Gardaí are investigating.
A pedestrian aged in his 60s died after he was struck by a car on the Maynooth road in Celbridge last night.
His body was removed to Naas General Hospital, where a post mortem is to take place.
Gardai say that no one else was injured during the incident- the road was closed for a time to facilitate a forensic examination, but has since re-opened.
Meanwhile Gardai in Dublin are also investigating a serious collision.
It happened on Georges street in the city centre last night.
The road remains closed off from the Dame street juncition to Stephen Street upper.
Gardaí and emergency services are still at the scene and diversions in place.
