Gardaí were called to the Brownsbarn Estate in Kingswood just before 7 this morning.
There they found the body of a man in his 30s outside a house who it's believed was stabbed to death .
The Office of the State Pathologist has been informed and the area has been sealed off for a technical exam.
It's understood Gardaí, who are carrying out door to door inquiries, are following a definite line of inquiry in the case.
They're asking anyone with information is asked to contact them
