Meat Industry Ireland Refutes Claims Made About Poor Conditions In Meat Factories For Migrant Workers

A new report from the MRCI claims a culture of bullying, racism and discrimination exists in facilities across the country

Those surveyed say they are given the worst and heaviest work because they do not have access to the same rights as other employees.

Director of the Migrants Rights Centre Ireland, Edel McGinley says people's safety is at risk:

'People tell us they've been shouted at, they've been harassed, they've been treated very poorly, there is a culture of fear and oppression in the workplaces. People are afraid to speak up they're afraid to come forward, or if it is reported it can be downgraded. So there are very, very worrying conditions for workers at the moment.'
