Minister Catherine Martin met with members of the RTE Board this morning, in what was their first encounter since Siún Ní Raghallaigh's resignation last week.
The Media Ministern says she told the RTE Board she appreciates the significant commitment the Board has demonstrated over what has been a very difficult eight months.
She says she was updated RTÉ’s new strategy and the reforms which have been put in place.
Minister Martin adds she provided assurances of her "absolute commitment to a Government decision on a new and sustainable funding model by the summer."
The RTE Board has described the meeting as "open and constructive" which focused on the future of RTÉ and public service media.
Its former Chair, Siún Ní Raghallaigh, stepped down last week after the Minister failed to express confidence in her during a live television interview.
RTE this morning meanwhile announced Mari Hurley as its new Chief Financial Officer, and she's set to start her role towards the tail end of this summer.
