The median age of those who have bought a home rose from 35 to 39 between 2010 and 2021.
For those buying on their own, the median age went up from 34 to 41, and 35 to 38 for joint purchasers.
Figures from the CSO also show the median income for those buying was €71,300 last year.
It was €46,000 for those buying on their own and €87,700 for joint purchasers.
