A crucial meeting aimed at bringing certainty to the Leaving Certificate examination is expected to take place tomorrow.
The State Exams Advisory Group will hear the views of representative bodies and consider the most appropriate arrangements.
The Minister for Education has been coming under pressure to replace the traditional examination model with a hybrid version similar to last year.
Labour's spokesperson on Education Aodhán Ó Ríordáin is hopeful a decision will be made this week.
"I hope something will happen this week.
"I"m hearing from sources within Government, from TDs and Senators, who want a hybrid Leaving Cert.
"The opposition are united on it, the students have made their point of view known as well with over 70% of students wanting a hybrid model.
"There's just been too much disruption, and we can only assume there will be more between now and June with teachers being out with Covid."
