The Mercy University Hospital has reinstated Visiting restrictions with immediate effect.
A spokesperson for the city centre hospital says that the reintroduced restrictions are a result of an increase in the number of patients with Covid-19.
They say this is reflective of the increase in cases of COVID-19 being experienced in hospitals nationally.
While services in the Mercy are currently remaining operational, normal visiting has been suspended until further notice.
Visiting on compassionate grounds can be facilitated by prior agreement, however all visitors must wear a face mask at all times in the hospital and continue to use the alcohol hand gel provided.
They hospital have requested people not to visit if they are unwell with symptoms of infection such as cough, fever, vomiting or diarrhoea.
