Met Éireann is advising motorists to take extra care, as very wet and windy weather sweeps across the country.
The yellow alert is in effect until 9pm, with heavy rain and spot flooding possible in places.
Stormy conditions, with thunderstorms and hail showers, are also forecast.
Meteorologist with Met Eireann, Siobhan Ryan, says Atlantic coastal areas especially will experience strong gusts.
