A status yellow alert has been issued for 5 counties
It's been issued for Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford, Wicklow and Wexford, but showers are expected across Cork also.
It's in effect until 8pm tonight with heavy downpours expected.
Forecaster Andrew Doran Sherlock says there's also a risk of spot flooding.
