The Public Expenditure Minister says the Government will reflect carefully on concerns about the upcoming Budget.
The Irish Fiscal Advisory Council says the Coalition’s plans appear to be "at the limit" of what's prudent.
The watchdog says there are major issues to tackle like the ageing population, climate change and reform of the health service.
Minister Michael McGrath says they’ve noted their concerns but there will always be risks.
"Of course they have highlighted risks and concerns, and Government will reflect carefully now on what they have to say and we will take that on board.
"We have a strong recovery underway, and our first priority now is to secure that recovery to help people to return to work, and we're seeing great progress in that regard.
"They're right to point out risks, but there will always be risks in managing an open economy such as ours."
