The Minister for Higher Education says 'help is on the way' for students and families.
Third level college fees are set to be cut by €1,000 from this year.
The rate of the student grant will also be increased from January under Budget 2023 plans.
The rate will go up by between 10 and 14% depending what rate students are on.
A double payment of the student grant will be made in December in addition.
Minister Simon Harris, says the government has done all it can to ease financial pressure.
