There's more Airbnbs available to let in Ireland than rental units.
That's despite regulations in place for the past couple of years on the short term lets.
Sinn Fein's housing spokesperson, Eoin Ó Broin, outlines what the bill in the Oireachtas aims to achieve:
"Putting in place a new offence in the Planning and Development Act for advertising a non-compliant short-term let and a fine on the platform or the estate agent potentially profiting on the back of of illegal short-term lets. We're not looking to change the regulations. They are what they are. They have cross-party support in the Oireachtas. We just want them to be enforced properly".
