More than 60 existing consultants have switched over to the new Sláintecare public only contract since its introduction in March.
The Business Post reports there have been 43 contracts issued automatically to newly recruited consultants.
The new consultant contract became operational in March and is worth up to 257,193 euro a year for doctors who avail of it.
The HSE says 600 consultants have expressed an interest in the contract to date.
