The government will table a motion of confidence in itself in the Dáil tomorrow.
It's in response to a Sinn Féin motion of no confidence, which is unlikely to pass.
Fine Gael's Joe McHugh and Fianna Fáil's Marc McSharry will be voting in support of the government, despite both TDs losing their party's whip.
Independent TD Marian Harkin will back Sinn Féin's motion, she says it's important the government is held to account:
"I think it's reasonable two and a half years after the last election, that the Dáil will debate the performance of the government. I think that's a reasonable thing to do, and that TDs will be asked to deliver their verdict."
