Motorists are being warned that road conditions across the country are hazardous again this morning.
A Status Yellow warning for low temperatures and ice remains in place for the whole country until midday on Friday.
Ice and freezing fog have been reported on many roads.
Extreme care is needed with black ice likely also.
Brian Farrell of the Road safety Authority said freezing fog and lying snow are adding to the difficult conditions and is appealing to motorists to slow down.
"People need to watch out for the challenges of driving and fog conditions and especially freezing fog.
"And in some parts of the country there's snow that road users are having to contend with.
"So the key thing is to slow down that's the most important message we can we can give out."
