There's a call on motorists to be cautious on the roads this Bank Holiday weekend.
Gardai and the Road Safety Authority have made the joint appeal, with special focus on vulnerable road users.
20 people have died and 94 have been seriously injured over the past five June Bank Holiday weekends.
Assistant Commissioner for Roads Policing, Paula Hilman, says simple steps save lives.
"Look out for one another, for drivers to give space to cyclists and pedestrians, to look out for motorcyclists.
"Our message is very clear, the road is a shared spaced, whether were walking, we're driving, we're cycling, on horses or we're motorcyclists, let's all look out for one another, because we have seen tragically the increase in road deaths this year."
