Motorsport Ireland is extending its sympathies to the family and friends of a competitor who was killed during a rally in County Clare.
The driver in the second car has been injured in the two-car crash at the Clare Stages Rally near Carron.
The man who died was in his 30s and was a passenger in one of the cars involved in this crash with another car during stage 4 of the Clare Stages rally.
It happened at Glencolumbkille at around 1.30 yesterday afternoon. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to hospital for a post mortem examinaton. The driver in his car wasn't injured.
The driver of the second car is being treated for non-life threatening injuries in University Hospital Limerick.
While the passenger in the second car wasn't hurt.
Clare Motor Club says the relevant authorities were immediately advised of the incident, the event was stopped and emergency services attended the scene.
