Colleges throughout the country are to benefit from a €40 million Government grant.
The money can be used to upgrade old buildings making them more energy efficient and help students access laptops and other essential equipment.
Minister for Education Simon Harris says he wants colleges to be inclusive and welcoming:
"We're trying to provide funding so that if a college wants to make itself more energy efficient, wants to upgrade its energy system, there's money for that. We're also trying to make sure that college campuses are welcoming and inclusive for everybody in society. It's a key aim of my department, and to do that it often does require physical adaptations being made to campus buildings."
