The National Parks & Wildlife Service is appealing to members of the public to be conscious of the dangers posed by fire and to exercise extreme caution during the current warm spell.
The recent hot temperatures have seen an increase in the number of fires as a result of the public using barbeques or open fires.
People are being reminded that it is an offence to light any fire within 1 mile of a woodland or a Nature Reserve.
The Minister of State for Heritage Malcolm Noonan is calling on the public to use common sense when they are visiting areas of natural beauty.
