It's been suggested that technology could help to cut down on the number of drink drivers and deaths on our roads.
It comes as CSO figures show 14 road deaths were recorded in June, up from 9 the year previously.
Gardai issued a fresh warning to the public last weekend around the effects of drink driving as 87 people have lost their lives on the roads this year.
Head of Communications at the AA, Paddy Comyn, says the technology to bring down the numbers is out there:
"There is always going to be an element of risk in human behavior, but it might be the time to help eradicate that by making further cuts to either have either zero alcohol limit or using technology such as breathalyzer keys."
