A vote of no confidence in the Government this week is being described as nothing more than a publicity stunt.
That's the view of Minister of State Peter Burke who says precious Dáil time is being wasted by Sinn Féin.
The Government formally lost its majority last week when Fine Gael TD Joe McHugh voted against his colleagues over the Mica redress package.
Independent TD Marian Harkin says she will vote against the government this week.
Minister Peter Burke says a vote of no confidence is a waste of time because the Government is going to win anyway.
"The Government will have enough numbers to win the vote, and it has got broad support from other political TDs in the 33rd Dail.
"We've seen that demonstrated on an umber of occasions when there was significant votes, be it the Budget or confidence votes in this current Dail."
