There's no evidence of excessive pricing in Irish supermarkets, according to a new report.
The Consumer and Competition Protection Agency was requested by the Government to investigate the matter, amid the ongoing cost of living crisis.
The Department of Enterprise is preparing to meet with supermarket bosses again today, after asking them last month to lower their prices.
Sinn Féin's Enterprise Spokesperson, Louise O'Reilly, says the Government cannot stand by while people struggle to pay for food.
"The fact still remains that for these massive retailers we don't know their profit margins, they don't publish their profits and they're not required to do so by the Government.
"What we do know are the studies that show that food inflation is outstripping inflation in the general economy.
"We also know that more and more people are having to go to foodbanks."
