Last year's Junior Cert students will receive their exam results on the 23rd of November.
It follows calls for clarity from pupils, who've waited five months to be given their grades.
A number of papers in specific subjects are still being corrected, as the State Examination Commission deals with an examiner shortage.
Education Minister Norma Foley says there are a number of reasons for the delay:
"There have been particular challenges with the State Examination Commission this year following two sittings of the Leaving Certificate. That is what we all wanted, I think to give students the maximum opportunity during Covid that they could sit the exams if they were impacted by Covid. There also have been challenges around correctors in particular subjects and the State Examination Commission themselves we give the extra detail on that."
