The number of work related deaths was down last year compared to 2020.
38 deaths were reported in 2021 according to the Health and Safety Authority's Annual Workplace review.
54 people lost their lives in 2020, that's a 30% reduction in work related deaths.
The Authority says there is still a worrying trend with workers in the farming and construction industries, which are collectively accounting for half the deaths last year.
Dr. Kevin DeBarra Assistant Chief Executive with the HSA says the data shows up some alarming results.
