Olympian Jack Woolley says he's 'home' and 'well' after undergoing surgery after suffering injuries in an attack in Dublin.
He was brought to hospital after being punched in the face while walking along the Liffey boardwalk on Friday night.
Gardai say investigations are ongoing into the incident, and no arrests have been made.
In a post on Instagram, Jack Woolley says he's grateful for all the support he has received since the attack.
"I'm home, I'm well, apologies if you can't understand me because the swelling after surgery is even worse than before.
"If anything I actually think it's made my face a little bit more symmetrical! Hopefully I won't be as bad out the other side.
"Don't worry about me, I'll be alright. I just wanted to raise some awareness of what happened. I'm not looking for people's sympathy, that's not why I'm posting.
"I've had thousands and thousands of message requests that I'm not able to get to right now, it doesn't go unnoticed and I just want to thank everyone for their support."
