One in five people who were claiming job seekers' allowance, received more than they were entitled too.
That's according to the Department of Social Protection, who conducted a review of social welfare payments earlier this year.
In its survey, the department said Covid-19 had an impact on overpayments, as all new claims were being paid by electronic transfer.
