More than a thousand uses of force by Gardaí were recorded last month, according to a report to the Policing Authority.
There were 89 recorded uses of force involving batons and incapacitating sprays last month, compared to 117 incidents in June.
The report published this morning found Gardaí did not deploy tasers or lethal firearms at all in July.
