Over 14,000 Ukrainian refugees have arrived in Ireland since the war began.

Last week, the Tanaiste predicted up to 20 thousand will have arrived by the end of this month.

More than 7,600 of those who have arrived have sought accommodation from the state.

Justice Minister Helen McEntee says it's unclear just how many people will seek protection in Ireland:

"We need to make sure that as people start to disburse further from the initial member states that we are collectively speaking to each other that we know where people are travelling to and that obviously we can see where people are, are seeking that temporary protection mechanism. I mean it's very hard to tell what numbers are going to come to Ireland. Overall, the Taoiseach was very clear in the very first week, we're not going to put a limit, we're not going to put a cap on it."
