87% of people presenting to hospital with eating disorders are under the age of 24.
However there's warnings the mental health issues are not exclusive to the age group.
Figures released from Freedom of Information show in 2021 there were 424 people in total hospitalised with anorexia.
95% of those were women, while more than half were under the age of 16.
These figures relate to those who were hospitalised, but many people suffering with an eating disorder go first to their GP for help.
