Over €1.37 million has been spent so far on a plan for a light rail system for the city.
The Echo reports the breakdown was provided to Cork East TD Sean Sherlock by the NTA.
The money has been spent on fees related to route selection and a feasability study.
It's envisaged the Cork Luas will run from Ballincollig to Mahon and provide services to CUH, both universities, the city centre and the railway station.
