Over €3 million worth of cars, cash, properties and designer goods were seized by CAB last year.
The Criminal Assets Bureau handed back €5.5 million to the state from the proceeds of crime and revenue settlements.
Detective Chief Superintendent, Mick Gubbins, says €5.4 million was also returned to six victims who were defrauded by crypto-currency thieves;
"It's appropriate to say to people that if you are going to make a profit on the back of illegal activity, you should expect to suffer the consequences of that. I don't really have a difficulty with the notion that we are expediting that process, making it faster and making it more efficient and making those who are responsible for us and known to the public."
