Over One Third Of Irish Consumers Expect To Buy More Online From Irish Shops Post-Brexit

That's according to new research from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission

It shows the number of consumers buying online from UK stores dropped between 2019 and 2020.

It's warning Irish consumers that brexit may impact on consumer rights if buying from UK based businesses.

The CCPC's Doireann Sweeney says people buying high value goods for Christmas should proceed with caution:

'So if you buy today, you have European consumer rights, you're entitled to your return, you're entitled to all those lovely rights. The difficulty is in six months time if you have bought something, computer or a TV, and there's an issue with this. It could be a bit more difficult to try get that solution and that outcome for you.'
