Parents could see another double child benefit payment in the autumn.
A once off payment of €280 per child is under consideration by government in the budget.
According to the Irish Independent the coalition may also extend State-funded parent's leave by another two weeks, meaning new parents could take up to nine weeks off after the birth of their child.
