The leaders of the three coalition parties will meet this evening to consider plans to end mandatory mask-wearing.
NPHET recommended the measure last Thursday and called for PCR testing for Covid to be limited to over-55s.
It also said all restrictions in schools, such as pods, should end.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin has confirmed the government will be accepting the advice, and the cabinet's expected to formally sign off on the measures tomorrow.
They're due to take effect on February 28th.
