Paschal Donohoe says he 'deeply regrets the situation' over undeclared costs in 2016 'and the role that he played in it.'
The Public Expenditure Minister says an additional spend on the statement for the 2016 General Election campaign of 1,057 euro should be included.
It comes after a complaint against him was made to SIPO, alleging he failed to properly declare services provided to him seven years ago.
Minister Donohoe says he's sorry for not including this extra work.
"I've always hold myself to the very highest of professional standards. And I profoundly regret that this matter was not dealt with correctly in 2016.
"In light of the information that's now available to me, I've taken the steps to address the issue as comprehensively as I can."
