Passenger numbers at Dublin Airport this month are at 90% of pre-pandemic levels.
350,000 are expected to go through Dublin Airport this weekend for its busiest weekend in more than 2 years.
People are still being advised to arrive 3 and a half hours before their flight departure, as the airport continues to redeploy its staff to deal with shortages at security.
Graham McQueen, from the Dublin Airport Authority, says the volume of people traveling is nearing pre-Covid numbers:
"So we are seeing passenger numbers increase all the time. If we were to compare this April with April 2019, which was pre-pandemic, we're probably up around 90% in terms of passenger numbers, so it is busy. There's a real thirst in Ireland for people looking to get away again. They are looking to take foreign trips, which is great to see but it obviously poses a challenge in the airport and we're trying to react to that. We're trying to get our staffing levels, trying to get our operation up to where it needs to be but that's taking time".
