Passengers travelling through London Heathrow have been left stranded as eight flights to and from Cork Airport were cancelled today.
Global disruption has been caused, as the electricity at Heathrow Airport disconnected after a fire at a substation.
Joel Veeya has been in Cork for work for the last two weeks, and was due to return home to the US today via Heathrow.
Speaking to RedFM News Joel says he’s sitting in Cork Airport figuring out how to get back to Texas,
"Well, we're here for work in Ireland, and we're just heading back home. We just got an email that our flights got cancelled because of the fire in Heathrow, so they've cancelled our flights, and we're just trying to figure it out, what to do so I can just go home. I'm heading back to Texas."
