The eviction ban 'makes sense' and Ireland should look at countries like France which introduces a ban every winter.
That's the view of The Peter McVerry Trust, it's called the decision to ban evictions in the coming months ' a common sense move'.
Yesterday Government signed off on move, it will run to run from November to the end of March.
Pat Doyle, CEO of The Peter McVerry Trust, hopes more housing stock will have come on stream by the time it's removed.
"It just makes really good common sense to put in a ban now until at the beginning of April next year ,and that will allow our building programme to catch up, and it will just allow us to get the housing that's needed so that when people are evicted, we have somewhere to put them
"It also makes sense in the winter. This is done in France every year, where you can't evict people into the cold weather"
