Over 1200 people have signed an online petition in support of Cork's bid for the 2024 America's Cup
The online petition was created by Michael Horgan, and he described the event as having the potential to utterly transform Cork and a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Michael Horgan is hopeful that the petition will attract 10,000 signatures, at which point he will deliver it to the Sports Minister Catherine Martin.
Last week organisers announced an extension to the selection process and Business leaders in the city have already said the event will showcase Cork on a global scale
