900,000 people in this country are on a waiting list to be seen by Healthcare professionals.
That's according to a Dublin People Before Profit TD who's calling on the Government to act.
Gino Kenny said the Government's handling of the health system is shocking:
"It's completely unacceptable that 900,000 people find themselves in a situation where they're waiting on a procedure or elective surgery. And you know, in some cases, some people are waiting up to five years. It's completely unacceptable that we have a situation where people are languishing on hospital waiting, while time is of the essence in relation to surgery or a procedure, so it's just unacceptable".
