Phone boxes Could Soon Be A Thing Of The Past

The telecom's regulator ComReg has told Eir it'll no longer be obligated to provide public payphones from 2021 due to their low usage.

The Irish Examiner reports there are currently 456 of the phones around the country, down from 1,300 in 2014.

There's 65 in Cork, 188 in Dublin while the likes of Leitrim, Roscommon, Donegal, Mayo, Westmeath and Meath no longer have any
